YouTube: first 5 years of existence

Youtube has made in recent days five years. His first video was upload in April 2005, but the first user (including its founder) was recorded on February 14. YouTube Congratulations!

On April 23, 2005, at 20:27, a video produced at the San Diego Zoo in the elephant, is uppato YouTube. This is the first video posted by the portal co-founder Jawed Karim on the video-sharing platform, whose profile was recorded about a month earlier, on 14 February 2005. YouTube thus has celebrated this weekend its first 5 years of existence, although it was officially launched only in December 2005, almost simultaneously with the launch of the French site Dailymotion.


Created from old founder of PayPal, YouTube has quickly become a giant in the field of Web video sharing, so that in November 2006 Google decides to buy the portal to 1.65 billion dollars (about 1.3 billion euros). The search engine has merged this platform with its service, Google Video. In October 2009, YouTube boasted data record with billion video views per day, making it become a point of reference “social” on the Web

But what happens to the best-known social network or portals sharing, YouTube has also faced several problems related to publishing content covered by copyright or copyrights. The site therefore has struck deals with Warner, but was forced to come to some compromise with Viacom to avoid protracted litigation and court battles.
