Nvidia Tegra 3 for quad core tablet.
After having talked about the Nvidia Tegra 2 platform with 3D support that will be presented in the next few weeks, comes new information about the Nvidia Tegra 3 chip.
We have announced the intention of introducing the new Nvidia platform, which adds Tegra 2 3D version now to available, support for the three-dimensional technology. However, apparently, this is not the only news that the producer intends to submit during the year. He begins to speak earnestly of the Tegra 3 chip which could be made available by the end of 2011. It is a powerful and innovative platform based on the ARM Cortex A9 Quad Core processor with a frequency of 1.5 GHz is intended to equip tomorrow’s tablet in need and will need increasingly higher performance in the graphic and multimedia.
According to sources on the Web, the new solution will have Nvidia graphics three times higher power than that afforded by Tegra 2 platform and can be installed on devices with a resolution of 1920×1200 pixels (WUVGA). Considering the built-in support for Blu-ray video formats, one senses that the new System-on-Chip (SoC) plan to show a highly competitive industry and will allow the use of high-quality multimedia content.
Nvidia’s platform will necessarily take particular care consumption. In fact, devices for which it is designed, autonomy is one of the most limiting factors for continued use. As we expected in the previous article, Tegra 3 could be previewed at the upcoming Mobile World Congress, scheduled February 14 to 17.
On the other hand, is Tegra that Tegra 2 probably did not have the expected success and the company is determined to win back share from a crowded field of fierce competition.
