The N series of Nokia smartphones will pass quickly to the operating system Meego, so that will replace the dated Symbian. More precisely, Nokia N8 will be the last of the series flagship model to be equipped with Symbian OS.

According to Cnet Australia, in fact, Symbian version 3 (and later four) will be installed only on X Series handset (dedicated to music) and E Series (for professionals), while C Series Nokia will supply its Series40 platform, suitable entry level mobile phones. The Finnish manufacturer has recently revised downwards its sales estimates for the year 2010.
The company expects it to reach a turnover of 7.2 billion euros in Devices & Services for the second quarter, but earlier this week announced the figure of 6.7 billion. This decline seems to be due to sales of smartphones N Series family, disappointing than expected.
It should nevertheless be emphasized that the growing smartphone market is in full explosion with large competitors like Apple, Google, and Research In Motion. We do not know at the time whether the introduction of Meego, born from the synthesis of Moblin and Maemo will manage to save the sales of Nokia.
