The latest Ovi Maps, the navigation service for pedestrians and vehicular access, is now available for the Nokia E71 and Nokia E66.

The latest version of Ovi Maps had been made available in January on a range of devices like the Nokia E72, Nokia N97 and Nokia Mini X6. The Ovi Maps team, in the light of feedback received from users, has now also developed a version compatible with both Nokia E71 and Nokia E66 smartphones. Through Ovi Suite, users can download the latest maps of the countries on their devices so they can use off-line and receive free shipping.
Making existing compatible devices with the latest version of Ovi Maps is an extremely complex, but the team managed to Ovi Maps integrate the full functionality of navigation on these terminals. Because of technical limitations related to backporting application on existing devices but has not been possible to offer additional premium content such as Michelin and Lonely Planet. The Nokia E71 and Nokia E66 will also be the last of the S60 3.1 and all previous models to support this version of Ovi Maps.
Any future Nokia smartphone will be equipped with hand free car and pedestrian navigation integrated. These two devices are added to the E-series Nokia N86 8MP available for some days.
