The music service MusicStation Unlimited will be accessible from mobile phones equipped with Google’s Android platform, has announced the British company Omnifone at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona (from February 15 to 18). This application is first launched on the Nexus One of Google and the Magic of HTC handsets.

MusicStation will allow users a smartphone running Google Android to access a catalog of more than 6.5 million MP3 tracks from Universal Music, EMI, Sony BMG, Warner and independent labels. Users of this service will, against a subscription download music unlimitedly. Details of prices and availability of this service have not yet been announced. This service would enable mobile as Android compete in the field of music with Apple’s iPhone, a smartphone naturally associated with the iTunes Store, one of the shops online content used most in the world.
The company Omnifone was made known in 2007 as a service offering unlimited download music on the mobile charged EUR 2.99 per week. It was also announced in late January a partnership with Hewlett-Packard, one seller of PCs worldwide, to preinstall the MusicStation platform on many computers the HP Pavilion, Compaq Presario and HP Envy. Available in 10 European countries including France, the MusicStation service for HP is charged 9.99 euro per month in France and other countries in the euro area.
