MSI SlateBook will be released officially in the third quarter at Europe and the United States. The Computex Taipei will be the best showcase for the public the new tablet.

Now it’s official: MSI SlateBook tablet will be marketed during the summer and shown at Computex in Taipei. Already sometime ago we reported a similar indiscretion in a previous article. Already shown at last CES 2010 in Las Vegas, the SlateBook could be the first tablet-based processors such Zxx Atom (Menlow architecture) instead of ARM solutions.
Let us recall that one of the unique aspects of this device is abandoning its ARM architecture with processor Tegra 2 and Android operating system in favor mating Intel / Windows. In an elegant weight not exceeding 800 grams, the SlateBook specs will be equipped with 3G and Wi-Fi and will be based on Windows 7 operating system from Microsoft. In terms of connections should be present a USB interface and a HDMI video output. The form factors is 10 inches and will be made available, probably even a specific docking station for use in vertical position.
Apparently could be made different versions of this tablet in the high end should not have a retail price above 400 euros. We just have to wait at the Computex trade fair scheduled for June 1 to 5 next year. The MSI SlateBook be classified as a real opponent the iPad Apple is having a major success. Even Dell, with its Streak, 5-inch multitouch tablet planned for June aims to counter the giant Apple in tablet.
