Lenovo ThinkPad T420, eco-friendly notebook.
Lenovo ThinkPad T420 has been Sustainable Product Certification (SPC) Gold certified for the “laptop” by UL Environment, the organization that supports the dissemination of products, services and sustainable organizations worldwide through the development of standards, services educational and certification by independent third parties.
“Being the first PC manufacturer that has received a Gold certification UL Environment for a laptop, confirms the efforts we have made in terms of environmental awareness about our products,” said Rob Taylor, Director of Environmental Affairs, Lenovo. “Our innovative products, such as Lenovo ThinkPad T420, show that we can also make environmentally responsible high performance technology.”
The new Lenovo ThinkPad T420 has confirmed its commitment in designing products that are more environmentally friendly: it has been designed using low-power halogen lamps and recycled material. Since September 2005, Lenovo has used more than 9,500 tons of recycled material to reduce the use of raw materials, until you get to integrate more than 10% on ThinkPad and about 65% in the ThinkCentre and ThinkVision monitors.
Over 50 Think-branded products, such as Lenovo ThinkPad T420, have been certified by other bodies such as Nordic Swan and Electronics Product Environmental Assessment Tool (EPEAT) Gold. All the packaging of the product is made from 100% recyclable material.
