HP Mansion: WebOS on a smartphone

HP confirmed the release of WebOS for smartphone the beginning of 2011. The first of the series should be called HP Mansion and possesses a screen resolution of 800 x 480 pixels.

This is more a confirmation than a revelation: HP will be launching many smartphones running WebOS in early 2011. The information has been disseminated by Eric Cador, vice president of the group, during a conference in Barcelona. Contrary to what was suggested (or perhaps misunderstood) shortly after the acquisition of Palm by HP, marketing terminals WebOS will be a strategic goal for the multinational American, and the intention of returning to the smartphone sector.

Recall that in the HP past has played an important role in the mobile sector, though undermined by an exclusively addressed to professionals. The acquisition of Palm offered to HP has a big advantage, allowing the American company to have a WebOS as flexible mobile platform, from advantage its strategy.
