HP EliteBook 8540w: Core i7 and graphics power. According to data from IDC, HP is currently the industry leader with a share of 42.8% of the mobile workstation market worldwide. Further expand its product line Elitebook, HP has introduced HP EliteBook 8540w (with a screen diagonal of 15 inches). The HP EliteBook 8540 provides a workstation-class graphics performance and is tested, optimized and certified for running the most demanding professional applications for advanced users.

Inspired by the design in the aircraft industry, the HP EliteBook 8540w are designed to meet the stringent military standard tests based on MIL-STD 810g for vibration, dust, humidity, altitude and the high and low temperatures. Anodized aluminum finish completes a gray magnesium alloy chassis to create an incredibly strong case, which protects the top and bottom of the notebook also by more intensive use.

The anodized aluminum is used for the area in support of the palms and the coverage of the screen, plus the HP DuraFinish coating that ensures resistance to scratching six times higher than current notebooks. The metal alloy hinges with hardened steel pins are designed for maximum strength and durability.

HP EliteBook 8540 include an LED backlit screen glare and high definition with a diagonal of 15 inches, and mount graphics cards with NVIDIA ISV certifications and options for Intel Core i7 or future Intel Core and vPro technology Turbo Boost. HP EliteBook 8540w performs the most demanding applications and provides advanced rendering capabilities, thanks to next-generation graphics cards, hard drives and high-speed support up to 16GB of memory.

Other innovations include HP HP EliteBook QuickWeb, which allows users to access the Web in seconds when the computer is off. HP QuickLook3 can control and edit e-mail messages, calendars and contacts without the need to open the notebook. HP Power Assistant provides total visibility on energy consumption of the notebook, with tools that allow you to save power, extend battery life and monitor the exact power requirements. In the new EliteBook models also have a keyboard with protection from a spill. Finally, the GPS (Global Positioning System) uses satellite technology to determine the 3D position (latitude, longitude and altitude).

The HP EliteBook 8540w is free of BFRs and PVC, reflecting HP’s commitment to the environment and reducing the use of pollutants. The HP EliteBook Mobile Workstation has achieved EPEAT Gold and Energy Star 5.0 qualification. Addition, for the new HP laptops and HP EliteBook ProBook Series B will be available on an optional battery HP Long Life Battery.

HP also introduced HP Performance Advisor tool, a kind of technical staff that makes it easy to update the settings and drivers of the system, ensuring optimal performance, improve stability and increase overall productivity level. Formerly known as the HP Performance Tuning Framework, HP Performance Advisor has been redesigned to provide a more intuitive interface that helps save time and money and improve overall productivity. Performance Advisor is included with all HP workstations, and new mobile workstation without charge.

HP Skyroom hours 1.1 is preinstalled on some HP EliteBook models. Version 1.1 ensures compatibility with Microsoft Windows 7 desktop sharing functionality and allowing the transfer of control of the computer to one or more participants in a videoconference. HP Skyroom is an affordable high definition video conferencing software that provides a real-time collaboration for meetings, as if they were in the same meeting room. Based on the graphics and video processing engines for HP and four times faster than a blink of an eye, Skyroom ensures high-fidelity audio, HD video and sharing high-performance 3D applications. HP EliteBook 8540w will be available by the end of the month, from EUR 1705.00 VAT included.
