It seems that Internet Explorer 6 has a short life, at least for Google and its services, Google Docs and Google Sites. With effect from 1 March, the Mountain View company will deny support.
Google is not fully satisfied with Internet Explorer 6, one of the old Microsoft browser, which is responsible (among others) to a vulnerability that has allowed some skilled programmers Chinese to engineer a computer attack against China’s Gmail account belonging to associations human rights. As of March 1, some services company in Mountain View, Google Docs and Sites in particular, no longer supports the browser IE6 (showing malfunction), so that Google suggested its users to upgrade to the latest Web browser version available, or at least to the next (Internet Explorer 7).
After making public the attack against Google, the internet users were asked to use a browser safer. The French and Germans, as well as experts in computer security, have suggested that users download and update the browser to maintain the security of their data. Approximately 20% of all internet users still use browsers IE6, even though many developers say every day wanting to see canceled this browser. But Microsoft has promised to support IE6 until 2014.
The story on attacks against Google, thanks to the flaw in Internet Explorer 6, has favored rival browsers such as Firefox, which has significantly increased its market share. In Europe, in fact, Firefox is able to compete with Internet Explorer, and in some countries even to overtake.
