“Google Phone” sold every day worldwide at Mobile World Congress 2010

Eric Schmidt, Google’s chief, announced at a lecture in the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona that he sold every day worldwide some 60,000 terminals equipped mobile platform Google Android. A figure that has doubled in the last quarter of 2009. According to Eric Schmidt, Android equipment currently no fewer than 26 different devices, distributed in dozens of countries around the world.


Presented in November 2007 by Google, the Android platform has been used on mobile devices manufacturers members of the Open Handset Alliance, a consortium around the search engine of many players or mobile computing as Samsung, LG, Motorola, Sony Ericsson, HTC and Acer. This technology, which is still missing in the iPhone, you can view videos or animations on many websites. At the Barcelona Motor Show, most manufacturers have unveiled Android smartphones Eclair, starting by HTC with its Legend model. Google also markets since the beginning of its own device on Android. Made by HTC but sold under the Google brand, the “Nexus One” is on sale now for the United States, and will soon arrive on the French market.
