From next April, will be available on the European market the new notebook Asus N82JA, Asus N61JA, Asus N61JQ and Asus N61JV. Solutions based on Intel Calpella and with USB 3.0 port for data transfer at high bit rate.

These days, the Taiwanese company has announced that from April 2010 will be available in Europe, the ASUS N82JV and Asus N61JA at a target price of around 1049 euros each (currently we have no information about versions Asus N61JV and Asus N61JQ). Both models share the Calpella platform and Intel processor Core i5-520M 2.4-GHz frequency that can be raised to 2.93 GHz Technology with Turbo Boost. This choice tries to combine good performance with greater energy efficiency.
The new Asus N82JV-VX020V and Asus N61JA-JX008V, these trade names complete, they differ in the 14-inch diagonal display (for Asus N82) and 16 inches (for Asus N61). Another difference may be sought in the video section which consists of an NVIDIA GeForce 335M GT 1 GB in the former case and an ATI Mobility Radeon HD5730 with 1 GB in the second. However, both panels are backlit with LEDs and offer a resolution 1.366×768 pixels.
One of the most significant aspects of the configuration gems for both home Asus is the presence of a newly developed USB 3.0 interface, offering a data transfer rate up to 10 times higher than the previous version. In recent weeks, begin to increase the proposed commercial products equipped with this standard. Other details shared by Asus N82 and N61 are two USB 2.0 ports, Memory 4 GB of RAM, hard drive 5400 rpm and 500 GB of capacity, connectivity, Wi-Fi 802.11b/g/ne Bluetooth module (there is, of course, LAN card 10/100), VGA and HDMI video outputs, multi-format card reader and an eSATA port for connecting external storage devices.
The autonomy is left to a 6-cell battery while the operating system preinstalled and the usual Windows 7 Home Premium. The two new proposals by Asus can be placed in a band mid-range and provide a good compromise between cost and performance, assigned to the new Californian chipmaker’s processors and video cards all respect. The design is quite elegant and professional looking. The keyboard is traditional, without buttons “an island” and is provided, in 16-inch, numeric keypad, which is essential for the insertion of figures.
