The confirmed! Asus Eee PC 1015PN is finally official. The Taiwanese company has released official pictures and specifications of the first Eee PC ION 2, suggests that it will soon be available in stores.

Asus Eee PC 1015PN, the first 10-inch netbook with Nvidia ION Next-Generation platform, will be on sale within the month of October. The Taiwanese company today released the official page of the product, with an extensive photo gallery and its technical specifications.
As mentioned before, Asus Eee PC 1015PN will be equipped with a dual core processor, an Atom N550 1.5GHz, flanked by 1GB DDR3 memory and hard drive 250GB + 500GB WebStorage.
At the moment, we do not know which configuration will be scheduled for European and American markets. Aesthetically, the Eee PC netbook is very similar to the Eee PC 1015PED and Eee PC 1015PEM, with the same chiclet keyboard and also touchpad on the matte finish.
Asus Eee PC 1015PN will be equipped with a LCD screen with resolution classic 1024×600 pixel, although initially thought to a high-resolution LCD panel, 1366 x 768 pixels. This version will probably be on the market next year. The preinstalled OS is Windows 7 Home Premium or Windows 7 Starter, depending on the model.
However the real news is the hardware platform, represented by Nvidia ION Next Generation, more commonly known as ION 2. The Santa Clara company has designed two versions of its latest ION platform, a nettop for laptops and 11.6 inch (diagonal or more) and another for less 10-inch netbook performance (and below).






Asus Eee PC 1015PN integrate this last version, called ION N11M-PT1 with 512MB VRAM. At the moment we do not know the availability and the official price for the market but, according to initial rumors, will not exceed 399 euros. The size of 262x178x23.6 ~ 36.4mm and weighs 1.25kg, Eee PC 1015PN will be commercially available in different colors: white (glossy) and black, blue and red (opaque).
