In the first part of 2010, RIM has sold its 100 millionth BlackBerry smartphone. It ‘s interesting to note that more than half of BlackBerry smartphones have been sold during the last 18 months, which highlights the rapid global growth of BlackBerry.

IDC has recently been included in RIM’s top 5 mobile phone manufacturers worldwide, resulting in this small circle as the only company to produce only smartphone. At the same time that RIM is growing rapidly in the consumer market, continues to hold leadership in the enterprise market with more than 90% of companies, including Fortune 500 list, which have adopted the BlackBerry solution.

During the same period, RIM has sold about 11.2 million devices including its 100 millionth BlackBerry smartphone. The base of BlackBerry subscribers increased by about 60% over the previous year with 4.9 million new subscribers registered in Q1.
The total numbers of BlackBerry subscribers reaches 46 million shares and about 40% of these are outside North America. The BlackBerry products and services are available from about 550 carrier partners and distributors in 175 countries worldwide.
